BOO! Did I scare you?
Happy Halloween to all of our Hallowiener Friends out there! We just wanted to send out this little ping to your radar to let you know that we’re back on the case, and working on preliminary plans for the BloodMoon Faire! Our goal is to welcome guests to an event in an upcoming Halloween season, but nothing is written in tombstones quite yet.
This last couple years, we have regrouped, learned some things, and reimagined what the BloodMoon Faire might look like at it’s debut. Right now we’re working on the two most fundamental pillars of an event like this: Location & funding. We’ll be approaching each differently than we did the last time around and we need to make sure these two pillars are strong before we get into the fun stuff.
But, until then, we’re happy to be back at work on this event and hope you are all still on board with us!
What is the BloodMoon Faire:
At it’s heart, the BloodMoon Faire will be a story-driven Halloween festival with all kinds of spooky fun for all ages. Set in a cemetery called the Gothic Hills Cemetery*, the Travelers visit every year during the BloodMoon and throw a big party to celebrate the season. Celebrations include cultural experiences from around the world, and each weekend will feature a different theme. Think “ren faire” but with a Halloween spirit! Each weekend will benefit a different charitable organization, and many different community organizations will receive a portion of the proceeds overall.
How can I help?
At the moment, we’re in the beginnings of pre-production and we’re working on a few things. There will be plenty of opportunity for volunteering at the faire, but now we’re looking for help in logistics and financing.
Share us! The Bigger the Clan, the better!
If nothing else, you can share us with everyone you know! Helping us get the word out about this even will help us reach our goals for the next few months! Send the word out by using the social media links below. Be sure to mention that we’re looking for help too!
Be a Traveler Scout! Location Scouting!
Know of a GREAT location that could accommodate the faire? We’re looking for 4-5 acres of festival space, parking for several hundred to 1000 cars, within 10 minutes of a major freeway. Locations might be private or public parks. If you know of a place like this, or better yet, have a good relationship with an owner or manager of such a place, please let us know! We’d love to check us out. Drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org
We’re also looking for guidance mentors who may work within the LA City, County, State or National park system who could assist us in securing such a venue. If you’ve got connections in any of these systems who could help us, drop us a line at email@example.com and let us know.
Management Staff Volunteers:
We are looking for a few good Travelers to join our core management team. If you’ve got excellent management skills, sales experience, operations management experience, event organization experience, or other haunt management experience, let us know. We’re looking for help! All positions (except sales positions) are unpaid volunteer status at this moment, but with expectations of stipend compensation upon funding the event.
- Operations Manager
- Social Media & Online Presence Coordinator
- Marketing Manager
- Volunteer Coordinator
- Part Time Sponsorship Sales Contractor (Paid commission)
If you’re interested in joining our team, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Sponsorship & Financing:
We’re also looking for sponsors and investors for the event. Our goal is to raise $400,000 in investment this year to establish the BloodMoon Faire. If you’re interested in hearing more about investment opportunities with the Faire, let us know by sending a messenger pigeon to email@example.com.
We also welcome Sponsorship inquiries. We will be launching a full scale fundraising and sponsorship campaign later in the year, but if you’ve got interest and ideas of how you could sponsor our event, send us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org
